    the met gala 2018

I never really pay attention to any fashion shows or events. As the fashion pieces they produce just doesn’t make any sense to me. Apart from when the Met Gala happens every year in America. This years theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. An interesting theme and one I was excited to see what my favourite celeb babes would wear this year. Here are my favourite babes who totally stole the Met Gala 2018

THE MET GALA 2018 FASHION QUEENS // WHO I LOVED FROM THE HEAVENLY BODIES THEME

    BLAKE LIVELY – VERSACE

Blake Lively is the epitome of perfection. I mean how gorgeous does she look in this stunning dress. The hair, the makeup, the bag and even the shoes are perfection. The stunning deep red of the dress with the gold detailing and coloured jewels embellished on the dress. You can totally see where the 600+ hours went into the dress!

What I also love most about Blake’s attire is her clutch bag. Which features Reynolds embroidered on one side of the bag also with ‘R’ ‘B’ ‘J’ and ‘I’ around the outside which are the first letters of their family members names: Ryan, Blake, James and Ines. On the other side of the bag is a different piece of artwork from the Catholic era.

    CARA DELEVINGNE – DIOR

A very risky dress in terms of it being very revealing but only Cara could pull it off with her incredible figure. I love the moody-ness of the look she was going for with the netting and the headdress over her face but I wasn’t quite sure about the pink hair and green/yellow eyeshadow – maybe a smoky eye would look better.

    JASMINE SANDERS – H&M

Although Jasmine’s dress was amazing and budget friendly too being designed by H&M. Which you wouldn’t have expected to be featured amongst all the big names and designers. But I was more in love with her hair which reminded me of Rapunzel with the long plaited hair and roses intertwined the plait.

EMILIA CLARKE – DOLCE & GABBANA

Emilia Clarke looks radiant in this gorgeous black and gold Dolce & Gabbana dress, featuring a long train, gold detailing and a religious artwork design on the front. Her blonde locks are up in a simple yet beautiful up do with a gold crown resting on her head. I love her makeup but I’m not too sure on the overdone pink blush but I guess it adds to the affect of the outfit.

    ARIANA GRANDE – VERA WANG

Ariana’s dress featured a hand painted piece of The Last Judgement painting. Which is located in the Sistine Chapel all over her dress. The added golden netting really flows down to the floor for an elegant dress. The top half is a really fitted bustier and the skirt of the dress really flows out. She also has her hair tied up into a neat bun. With a large golden bow resting on top of her head. Her makeup is very simple and includes her signature winged eyeliner. So the attention is purely drawn to her dress and headpiece.

    HAILEE STEINFELD – PRABAL GURUNG

Hailee wore a very simple yet feminine dress which was an off white that flowed to the floor with a train behind her. The ruffles in the dress gave it that feminine feel and matched her stiletto heels and a very high slit up one leg to show her endless legs. Her tiara was the piece that caught me – so stunning! She finished her look with Tasaki jewellery and the crown. Her hair was straight and into a middle parting with her makeup very simple but with a gorgeous deep berry lip and brown smokey eyeshadow.

    ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY – RALPH LAUREN

Rosie, my queen Rosie! How can anyone be so perfect? and completely boss the catwalk and paparazzi. She wore this stunning metallic gold dress which was long in the body and with a deep V neckline it totally showed off her assets and flattered her body shape. The long cape behind her was covered in just as many gems and jewels as the actual dress did which flowed down from her shoulders right down to the floor.

Her golden heels just peeped out from underneath her dress. Rosie’s hair was tied into a nice tidy bun at the nape of her neck with a golden halo wrapped inside the bun to give her a heavenly angel look. Her makeup was simple showing off her flawless complexion with a browny nude lipstick and smokey eyeshadow with long fluttery eyelashes.

    AMANDA SEYFRIED – PRADA

Amanda is literally channeling her inner Juliet here in this gorgeous golden yellow Renaissance-style Prada dress. Her golden locks are perfectly curled and flowing around her face with her crown resting on top of her head. Her makeup is simple with a glittering gold eyeshadow and nudey pink lips. The puffy off the shoulder sleeve and detailing around the waist really make this dress.
