• KIKO Cosmetics: Eyeshadows, Base & Brushes | First Impressions

Trying out this new makeup brand with first impressions & a haul! My first time discovering KIKO Cosmetics by Milano which is based in Milan, Italy. This is my KIKO Cosmetics First Impressions where I try some products from a new brand I’ve found. I had never heard of this makeup brand before until I read one of my favourite bloggers writing about them. And then I checked out lots of reviews on YouTube as well as looking through their website.

I was amazed at how affordable their products were but also how professional they looked. Their packaging is similar to NARS and Sleek with the matte black packaging, which looks very sleek and professional. This makeup brand is great if you want to buy makeup at a really affordable price. But still get really good quality!

THESE ARE MY KIKO COSMETICS FIRST IMPRESSIONS // TRYING OUT THIS AWESOME & AFFORDABLE MAKEUP BRAND

Colour Fever Eyeshadow Palette in Coral Burgundy £6.90

I am loving the packaging on this eyeshadow palette, it’s very simple yet sleek which I like. It has four squares of eyeshadow ranging from light to dark to create a simple smokey eye. The lightest shade is a rose pink shimmer, the second colour is a deep burgundy. The third shade is a slight rose gold shade perfect for my everyday eye look.

The last shade is a deeper burgundy almost brown shade perfect for that smokey eye look. The formula of these eyeshadows are very pigmented and they blend really well. They all have shimmer in them but nothing that will put you off wearing them.

Colour Fever Eyeshadow Palette in Unexpected Rosy Taupe £6.90

I am loving the packaging on this eyeshadow palette, it’s very simple yet sleek which I like. It has four squares of eyeshadow ranging from light to dark to create a simple smokey eye. The lightest shade is a very cream white shimmer, going into a slight gold shimmer. Then a cream shimmer and the last and darkest shade is a medium brown shimmer. The formula of these eyeshadows are very pigmented and they blend really well. They all have a shimmer in them but nothing that will put you off wearing them.

(please excuse the really bad swatches and my v. veiny hands for some reason)

Mat Mousse Foundation in Ivory £6.70

I have tried this foundation once and I wasn’t very happy with it but I think it’s because I wasn’t having a very good skin day and it showed up a lot of my dry acne patches so I’m thinking I will give this another ago with a more hydrating base and maybe pair it with one of my more illuminating and liquid foundations and see how well it mixes. If not I will try another one of KIKO’s foundations.

Skin Tone Corrector Primer in Green (Redness) £9.90

I suffer from really bad redness and rosacea in the skin which is becoming a right pain recently so I’m trying everything I can to treat and reduce the redness. I currently use Clinique’s Redness Solution Daily Base as a correcting primer and I saw that KIKO do lots of different correcting primers for all times of skin problems so I thought I would give their Green primer a go and see how it works for me.

This primer is green tinted which is common for redness correcting and it’s a nice liquid formula and it’s also very moisturising as well which is really good for my skin as I do get dry patches despite having very oily skin but that is due to my spot treatments that dry out those areas of my face. It covers and dulls the redness very well and I am excited to try the other correcting primers in the near future. It is well worth the money as the Clinique primer is £19.00 and this primer does pretty much the same thing but without the SPF, so if you want a budget alternative I recommend this one for you.

    Face 103 Blush Brush £6.90

I was a lot more impressed with this brush that I purchased for applying blush and maybe in the future bronzer. The quality and texture of this brush is a lot softer, whilst still being dense the brush will still move softly whilst applying the blush and bronzer. The brush is slightly higher one side to make it easier to get into the groves of your cheek bones and make it easier to apply the product. The handle of the brush is very sleek and has ‘FACE 103’ on it so you know which brush it is which is very handy if you have all of the brushes in your collection so you know which one to go for.

    Face 109 Foundation Brush £16.90

I was searching for a new foundation brush. As I currently use the foundation brush and buffing brush by Real Techniques. I wanted to go for a different style brush so I found this brush on their website. It’s pretty similar to the bareMinerals brush that comes with their Complexion Rescue with a dip in the middle that the product goes into. You use circular motions to disperse the product out. I am pretty disappointed with this brush if I’m honest, I like the idea of this brush but the bristles are far too harsh and stiff for my liking and they really irritate my sensitive and already really red skin. So I won’t be using this brush anymore.

    Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in Champagne £4.40

I was really interested in how this eyeshadow works as you can use it both wet and dry. Using it dry you get a normal intensity of the colour and using it wet it will be more intense and last a little bit longer. I love this champagne colour, it’s so pretty and perfect for everyday. The formula is very pigmented and it’s very easy to blend.

I am very impressed with this make up brand and will definitely purchase more makeup from them. I am so excited to try out their brand new Rebel Romantic Collection that has just been released this month. Look out for a post about their collection in the near future!
