The Emerald Pool in Krabi is a natural mineral pool and nature reserve in the Klong Thom district of Krabi. The pool is a popular swimming spot located in a wonderful forest. Also with a wooden walking track through the forest and nature reserve.
THE EMERALD POOL AND NATURAL WALK
The bacteria, minerals and limestone solution create the emerald colour, the pool progressively gets it’s colour. This creates this beautiful blue/green colour. The water comes from a warm stream which is about 30 – 50 degree Celsius. Surrounded by a forest and nature reserve is the Emerald pool. Filled with lots of gorgeous trees and plants and you may even spot the odd bit of nature as well. It’s located 800 meters away from the car park.
There are two routes to walk from car park to the pool. The first route is the shortcut path which is about 800 meters which you can walk straight to the pool. . Surrounded by the forest until you reach the pool, following the trail of 1,400 meters and over the wooden bridge. When we visited we took the longer route to experience some of the nature reserve before reaching the pool and to also filter some of the other tourists away so it wasn’t as busy when we got to the pool.
BASIC INFO ABOUT THE EMERALD POOL:
– Opening times are from 8am to 5pm everyday.
– Entrance costs 90TBH for adults and 50TBH for children.
– The edges of the pool is covered in seaweed, please be careful – it is really slippy. The easiest way to enter the pool is to find the shallower end, sit down on your bottom as far down as you can and slowly slide yourself into the pool. The best way to get out is to swim over to the end with the rope tied into a tree, grab the rope and leaver yourself up until you can get out.
