Now you may be looking at this post title thinking ‘Huh, what is she talking about?!’, so let me get into it. I was searching the web for ways to naturally look after your skin as my skin has been really crap recently. I came across an article that talked about a few phone apps in which you can scan your cosmetics products for harmful chemicals.
Of course me being very intrigued I downloaded one called ‘Think Dirty‘ and I started scanning any beauty products of mine that had barcodes on and became shocked at one of the products that I am trying to use up. It’s not cruelty free and went off the scale with bad chemicals and toxins in it and it was the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder!
SO ARE OUR BEAUTY PRODUCTS TOXIC? // LET’S FIND OUT!
INGREDIENTS AND RESEARCH
I couldn’t believe what I was reading and to think I used that product on my face made me feel really sick, I instantly removed it from my pile of products that need using up and continued to scan the remaining products I have in my drawers that had barcodes to find other products. More and more products kept creeping in from NYX and the other Rimmel products I had remaining. I’m unsure of some of the products I have which don’t have bar codes on the actual product and I don’t have their boxes either to check so I’m going to do some deep research into each brand to find out their ingredients.

If you can’t pronounce or recognise any ingredients in your beauty products I would definitely recommend chucking them and looking for brands with more natural and friendly ingredients. I am now going to start a new beauty journey on my blog with not only sticking to my cruelty free beauty products but also finding natural beauty brands and testing out their products.
