My all time favourite places and recommendations to eat at in Tenerife. When on holiday, I love finding good places to eat and enjoy exploring different cuisines and trying new things. Whilst in Tenerife, Spain, we tried an extensive range of food types from Italian, Chinese, American, Spanish, English and even Brazilian Carvery. I love finding good places that you enjoy going back to whenever you are near them. Experiencing good service, great quality food and a wide choice of menu will bring you back to a certain restaurant wanting to try more. This is my guide and selection of places to eat and drink at in Tenerife.
11 PLACES TO EAT AROUND TENERIFE // MY FAVOURITE PLACES TO GO TO
My favourite restaurants are included in this post from my travels to Tenerife over the past 3 years. We typically stay in the South of the island so if you are staying anywhere near the South, you need to check out these places. Some although do not include pictures but my other favourite places are: Casa La Olga which is a typical Spanish tapas cafe in Roque de las Bodegas and Rodeo which is a Brazilian meat carvery which waiters come around your table with various amounts and types of meat on skewers and serve you an all you can eat buffet in Playa Fanabe, Costa Adeje.
MARIA RESTAURANT – LOS ABRIGOS
Cheese and Tomato Bagel with Chips
A lovely little cafe right on the harbor front where you can watch the boats come in and out. Serving a wide range of snacks and drinks, perfect for a quick bite.
COLALA– PLAYA FANABE, COSTA ADEJE
Long John Pizza (prawns, chicken, bacon, cheese)
Famous for it’s pizza and pasta – if you’re an Italian lover, you’ll love this restaurant.
HARRIET’S TEA ROOM – PLAYA FANABE, COSTA ADEJE
Fish & Chips and Strawberry Cheesecake
One of Trip Advisers favourite cafes and restaurants voted for by their customers, serving up your traditional English grub. Their fish & chips are one of their signature dishes. Run by English ex pats! You must try their fresh cakes and delicious sweet menu.
COLONIAL – PLAYA FANABE, COSTA ADEJE
Gamon, Egg and Chips
One of our favourite bars to watch the football and live sports. Great for grabbing a cold pint or soft drink and sharing a platter whilst watching the football. Also run by English ex pats.
EL CALDERO – LA CALETA, COSTA ADEJE
Tapas: Russian Salad, Whitebait
Perfect if you love your tapas or would like to try it. Located on the harbor front in La Caleta, a small fishing village. A traditional Canarian tapas restaurant!
CARLOS – SAN EUGENIO, COSTA ADEJE
Hawaiian Chicken and Homemade Banoffee Pie
A very popular restaurant in Tenerife, located in a back street that’s near the main harbor in Costa Adeje. It’s so popular you need to make sure you book a table. Make sure you try their famous Espadata’s and their Homemade Banoffee Pie is to die for – I order it every time I’m there!
TONY ROMAS STEAKHOUSE – PLAYA FANABE, COSTA ADEJE
Burger with Cheese and Fries
A perfect place to eat at if you love your steak, burgers and typical American food. Located on the sea fronts it’s great to eat outside with a view of the sea.

88 ORIENTAL – LA CALETA, COSTA ADEJE
Sweet Chili Chicken
My favourite new find in Tenerife! There are quite a few around the island but this is my favourite as I love Oriental food. My favourite is their Sweet Chili Chicken (pictured above) that comes with sticky rice. With very pretty oriental decor and the view of the ocean and harbor, it’s perfect to sit outside but make sure you book before going to ensure you have a table with a view outside.
HARLEY’S AMERICAN RESTAURANT – FANABE, COSTA ADEJE
Onion Ring Stack, Pulled Pork Buns, Burger with Fries and Nachos
My god! My favourite restaurant to eat at when I’m feeling really hungry. Their typical American diner vibes are throughout the whole restaurant. With a massive train track running around the bar inside and typical American diner decor. With live bands playing at night mainly on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s a great place for a night cap and listen to live music. My favourite reason to eat here is because outside they have Cadillac tables (make sure you book these, as there is only 3 and they go quickly!) You literally sit in a Cadillac car at the table.
JAMON JAMON – PLAYA SAN JUAN
Tapas: Russian Salad, Patatas Bravas, Prawn Parcels, Mixed Meat Skewer, Berry Cheesecake
My last favourite place to eat at is a traditional Spanish restaurant with a live Flamenco show going on whilst you eat. Make sure you book a table at the 7pm show to get the best view. Order as many of your favourite tapas dishes you like to get served to your table as you watch the Flamenco.
Have you eaten in any of these places when you visited Tenerife? Are you thinking of visiting the Canary Islands?
