I find that us Brits seem to take our gorgeous natural landscapes for granted quite a lot. We don’t seem to realise that we have some beautiful mountains or landscapes right on our doorstep and around us that we should appreciate and venture out to a whole lot more. We always dream of going abroad and seeing these things but we actually need to look a lot closer than we think.
I’ve been on two amazing trips in our English countryside this past year and I wouldn’t change it for anything, seeing what natural beauty our country holds makes me rather proud to call England my home. Yes we may groan and grumble about the weather but that just comes and goes but our landscapes are with us forever (as long as we look after them).
If you haven’t gotten out into our landscapes I highly recommend you do so and make sure you check out these places for some breathtaking nature right on your front door.
Lake Windermere – Lake District
The Fells – Lake District, Cumbria
Mount Snowdon – Wales
Scafell Pike – Lake District, Cumbria
West Highland Way – Scotland
Hadrians Wall – Carlisle, Cumbria
Lizard Peninsula – Cornwall
The Thames Path – Gloucestershire to London
I’m sure there are plenty of other walks you can do or activities that are outside for you to enjoy our nature so feel free to leave your favourites down below for others and myself to check out.
