What’s Inside My Acrylic Storage & Pretty Everyday Favourites

What I keep inside my acrylic storage unit & my pretty everyday favourites. So my lovely friend Catherine from Love, Catherine (who’s blog is gorgeous btw, check her out!) has done a couple of posts about the makeup she stores in her Muji drawer units and it’s inspired me to do my own post with my new acrylic storage unit which I have on the top of my vanity with my most used and favourite beauty products in. My makeup isn’t as pretty as hers but I am trying to make it look appealing but still be products that I adore using in my makeup routine. Otherwise what would be the point in having them, right?
I recently purchased an acrylic storage unit from eBay which I have filled with my favourite and most used products so they available to grab whilst I’m getting ready every morning. I have tried to keep them organised in sections but we’ll see how it looks. My unit has 4 drawers, two large and two small with a detachable bit on the top with lipstick holders and brush holders which you can buy on eBay. It was only £11.99 which I think is quite reasonable.

So this part of my acrylic storage unit are the bits that I grab the most and use in my everyday makeup routine, on the left are my most used base products including my Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation, Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream, Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion, Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze and Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. These are my favourite products to use as my base as they are so reliable and feel like they look good on my skin. The bronzer is pure beaut and the mascara makes my lashes look really long and voluminous. (Please ignore the ripped wallpaper behind this, it’s just a tester to see if I’ll like it on my bedroom walls and currently using it as a backdrop to hide the paint tester splodges.)

On the other side I have my slightly taller products including my favourite lipsticks and balms and my taller face products. Right at the back are my two favourite facial setting sprays from Urban Decay, I have De Slick and All Nighter which I love to set my makeup for my long work days to prevent my makeup coming off and getting oily. I have these in the travel size as they are perfect for fitting in my makeup bag for on the go! And my favourite primer from Benefit which is their brand new Matte Rescue

In front of those I have a lipstick section that holds 12 lipsticks: at the very front I have two of my favourite Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks in To Nude or Not To Nude and Vintage Pink, then two from the new L’Oreal Colour Riche collection in J Lo’s Nude and Julianne’s Nude. I love the matte black and gold packaging of these. Behind these I have three of Benefits Balms in Benebalm, ChaChaBalm and PosieBalm, I love these for a hydrating splash of colour in a quick makeup look or just for lounging about. Next to those I have one of my Clinique Pop Lipsticks in Beige Pop which these lipsticks come in all sorts of great colours and they are the perfect size to chuck into your makeup bag for on the go. I also have this lipstick in Plum Pop which is currently in my makeup bag.  Behind that row of lipsticks I have 3 of my Milani Colour Statement Lipsticks in Nude Creme, Dulce Caramelo and Sugar Glaze, these are my favourite pretty pink nude shades that I like to wear in my everyday look and then finally I have my only KIKO Lipstick which is a Intensely Lavish Lipstick in the shade Lusty Peony which is my favourite shade – a mauve nude. I love the formula of this lipstick and the packaging is gorgeous. Unfortunately this lipstick is no longer available on KIKO’s website.

On the other side behind my base products are my favourite brushes to use daily. On the right hand side which you can just see the silver lid is my Clinique Chubby Contour Stick which I love to use to lightly contour and bronze my face and I blend that in using my Real Techniques Bold Metals Contour Brush which is rose gold and I love it. I then have my favourite eye shadow brushes which are my Real Techniques Shading Brush, Zoeva Luxe Classic Shader and my Zoeva Concealer Buffer which I love using on spot concealing. I then have my face brushes which vary between the Real Techniques Buffer and the Real Techniques Expert Face brushes. I also have my The Vintage Cosmetic Company Rose Gold Eyelash Curlers which are gorgeous and do such an amazing job! And finally a new addition to my brush collection is my Tarte Double Ended Camouflage Brush which has a foundation brush on one end and then a detachable sponge on the other end.

In the bottom drawer of my two larger drawers are my mini eyeshadow palettes and eyeshadow primer and brow gel. My mini palettes are Tarte Tartlette In Bloom, Too Faced Natural Eyes, Fleur De Force Quad in Cosmic Bronze, Urban Decay Naked Basics and Urban Decay Naked Basics 2. These are my favourite palettes because they are travel friendly but not only that they are the shades that suit me the most and the shadows are so buttery and really easy to blend they are a dream to work with and wear. I love wearing my favourite eyeshadow primer which is the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original under my shadows as it helps hold the colour and makes sure my eyeshadow stays put all day. I then love filling in my brows with my Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil and then setting my brows with my Benefit Speed Brow Gel.

In the drawer above that one I keep my individual powder and cream eyeshadows as well as my lip liners and stick eyeshadows and also 3 of my longer lip glosses.  The single cream eyeshadows I have in this drawer are Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows in R.S.V.P and Bikini Tini which are gorgeous gold and rose gold shades which I love wearing for a quick and easy eye look, then I have a random one from The Colour Workshop in Gold and one from a Ted Baker in Rose Gold that’s from a makeup set I received one birthday and then two from KIKO in shades 01 and 02 which are from their Rebel Romantic collection which is unfortunately no longer on their website anymore but these are a gorgeous pinky shade and a mauve shade. The powder eyeshadows I have are two random ones from No7 which are in Truffle and Starry Lights which I’ve had for years and still love and I then two Benefit Longwear Powder Eyeshadows in Nude Swings and Guilty Pleasure which are two gorgeous gold shades. I then have a eyeshadow stick from Laura Mercier which is her Caviar Eye Stick in Sand Glow, it’s a gorgeous gold shade perfect for a neutral eye and a quick eye look – it’s soo creamy and blend-able.

I then have a range of lip liners from Rimmel, NARS, bareMinerals and Laura Geller which you can read about all the ones I have in my recent Feel Unique haul, I haven’t purchased anymore since as these are my favourite lip liners so far and haven’t found any others that top these. I then have 3 lip glosses, two from Tanya Burr in Chic and Vampire Kiss but these are from her old lip gloss range which is why the packaging is different. I also have a lip gloss from Soap & Glory which is one of their Sexy Mother Pucker one’s in Charm Offensive.

In the smaller drawers I have my most used lip glosses and lipsticks that aren’t displayed on the top. In the right hand drawer are my smaller lip glosses which are mainly from NYX and bareMinerals. I have 4 of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Istanbul, Milan, Ibiza and Prague which are my favourite colours to wear, I love how creamy and soft these are to wear and they smell amazing. I also have 3 of the bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Glosses in Hot Shot, Maven and Spark Plug. I have the others from the set but not on display. These lip glosses have a minty taste to them as they help make your lips look more plump and they are the perfect size for makeup bags. These are all really pretty shades to wear for an everyday look.

Below is what my left hand drawer holds which are my bigger lipglosses and lipsticks that I love wearing. I have two of the Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour Creme in Cafe and Coy which are really nice nude shades. I then have a NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien and a H&M Lip Colour To Go in When In Rome which are really nice shades. I also have two lip products from Colourpop which were created by the YouTuber KathleenLights which is their Ultra Matte Lip in Lumiere 2 and their Lippie Stix in Lumiere. I also have a new addition to my lip collection from Tarte which is their Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Fomo which is a lovely mauve shade and the texture of this is really nice and soft. I then have two lip gloss tubes from Benefit which are their Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in A Lister and finally a mini of their Sugarbomb Lip Gloss

And finally my favourite and pretty everyday essentials that I love using in my daily routine include Dove Lemon Verbena and Pomegranate Spray Deodorant, Garnier Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin, Jo Malone Blackberry & Berry Hand and Body Lotion, Victoria’s Secret Body Spray in Sheer Love and my 3 current favourite fragrances: Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy, Jo Malone Nashi Blossom and Jo Malone Plum Blossom (which is now no longer available as it was a limited edition cologne). These are all my favourite fruity and floral fragrances which are perfect for the coming warmer weather and Spring. The bottles are all really pretty and look good on my vanity. The Dove deodorant is my favourite scent, it’s so fresh and girly and keeps me smelling nice throughout the day, I have a mini can of this which I keep in my handbag for on the go. The Micellar water is really good for my sensitive skin and is my first step into cleansing and removing my makeup from the day. The hand and body lotion is my favourite for when my hands are feeling a bit on the dry side and also for my forearms and elbows. Blackberry & Bay is one of my favourite scents from Jo Malone, I love the mixture of the fruity and floral fragrance. I love spritzing my VS body spray before my perfume to freshen up and make me smell like a VS model (I’m joking!).
