Too Faced: Born This Way Foundation | Review

The first foundation that I really didn’t like. Find out why here!
I finally own the new Too Faced foundation and here’s another foundation review to add to my series. I thought I would love this but unfortunately that’s not the case, here are my thoughts!

A new foundation added to my collection and it’s the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. I got this foundation in the shade Vanilla hoping it would be a good match for my skin and it was . I took a long while trying to find out and decide what the best shade to go for so I’m hoping this one is. Update – The packaging for this foundation is so cute, it comes in a frosted glass bottle with a black lid and pump and with the classic gold detailing that Too Faced use which makes this foundation look really pretty and it actually feels like really good quality. This foundation claims to give you the skin you wish you were born with, with a medium to full coverage that diffuses the line between skin and makeup. This foundation contains Coconut Water and Alpine Rose and Hyaluronic Acid which all help improve the skins appearance. It’s an oil free foundation which means it’s suitable for those with oily skin too, I think this foundation is great for all skin types. It’s a 30ml bottle which is slightly less than your normal amount of foundation, but it’s still quite a good amount. This foundation usually retails for about £29 but you can possibly find it cheaper in other places like eBay or Amazon.
It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin and doesn’t feel cakey at all. It’s also really easy to blend and doesn’t weigh the skin down. Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with the finish, it was incredibly shiny for my liking even after powdering. It looks good on the skin and made my skin look flawless but it just really showed up my oily patches and felt like it was dripping off my face. I really wanted to like this foundation! If you have shiny patches and very oily skin, I would try to avoid this even though it says it’s an oil free foundation.
I haven’t tried this foundation long enough to see the lasting power but I have a feeling it won’t last long on my skin type.

I really wouldn’t recommend this foundation if you suffer from oily skin. This foundation looked horrible and felt like it was melting off my skin. It showed my oily patches really badly and felt really wet. Even after using my mattifying primers and setting it with pressed powder and setting spray  – they didn’t make much difference. This foundation is definitely better suited for those with dry skin or who really like the dewy foundation finish.

Have you used this foundation before? What do you think of it?

I was really eager to get my hands on this foundation but it sounds like it would be terrible as I suffer with such oily skin!

I know, I was so gutted about the way it looked on my skin. It's such an expensive foundation as well, I don't know what to do with it now 🙁 x
