The Best Bases You Need On Holiday

Choosing the foundation for your holiday isn’t easy. Always choose one with SPF! Deciding on which foundation to take on holiday with you isn’t easy! Do I need one with SPF?, a dewy finish or a matte finish? A heavy or light formula? I’ve packed a small mixture in my makeup bag as my skin never knows what mood it’s in and also to trial which ones are best when in a very humid heat! With a mixture of BB creams and medium coverage foundations with both dewy and matte finishes and SPF, I tested them all out in the Mallorcan sun. My personal favourites where Garnier’s Miracle Skin BB Cream during the day which gave me a light amount of coverage and covered my imperfections slightly but still kept me matte and shine free during the day and also felt light on my skin without clogging my pores, and then during the night time I liked wearing Rimmel’s Stay Matte Mousse Foundation which gave me more of a medium coverage and still kept me shine free in the humid night time heat. Underneath my bases I wore Simple’s Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturiser with an SPF 15 and Benefit’s Dream Scream with an SPF 45 to help keep my skin protected from the sun.
I would recommend any of these foundations depending on how much coverage you like and also what type of finish, whether it’s matte or dewy.
bareMinerals Complexion RescueA mixture between a BB Cream and a tinted moisturiser that gives you a natural radiant look, this is perfect for wearing by the pool or exploring the local area. With an SPF of 30 this is great for a light amount of coverage but still protects your skin from the sun rays.
Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for Oily/Combination Skin  This BB cream is perfect for wearing by the pool or out exploring. It gives me a moderate amount of coverage but doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It keeps me looking matte all day even in the heat as well as setting it with powder and setting spray.
Benefit Big Easy BB CreamAnother BB cream perfect for wearing by the pool, this has an SPF of 35. With a liquid to powder formula this is great if you have oily skin as it will keep you looking matte all day long.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow FoundationThis liquid foundation gives a moderate amount of coverage and a slightly dewy finish with an SPF of 25 it still protects your skin from the sun rays. I pair this with my Big Easy BB cream for a more fuller coverage on my acne.
Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse Foundation This foundation has been one of my all time favourites and was my very first proper foundation I had ever purchased. It took me a little while to find a way for it to work for me and it really works well in extreme heat here in Mallorca and keeps me matte all day which is really good. Applying a moisturising primer underneath gives me a slight dewy finish and makes the foundation not too drying.
As I am writing this I am sat by the pool in sunny Mallorca and it’s boiling hot. Hopefully I will come back with a little tan – maybe?! How is the weather back in the UK, sunny or raining?
