KIKO: Mat Mousse Foundation | Review

My first ever foundation from KIKO. What did I think of it?
Another foundation review to add to my series and this one is a foundation from the drugstore and high street brand KIKO. I have had this foundation in my beauty vanity for quite some time and thought it was about time I tested it out. I did all of my usual skin prepping things before applying the foundation. Here is what I thought of it…
THE PRODUCT
KIKO only have a small range of foundations and most of them are a dewy based finish apart from this one which is matte, which I thought would be perfect for my oily skin. I purchased the Mat Mousse Foundation in their shade Ivory, which I think is an okay match for me. It’s a light mousse texture and consistency and the packaging is very basic coming in a black squeezy tube and screw on lid. This foundation contains SPF 15 and has an oil free based formula. This foundation retails for £6.70 on the KIKO Website which is now their 50% off price.

HOW IT WEARS
This foundation is really lightweight and is really easy to apply. It glides straight on over the primer and is so easy to blend in. It definitely is build-able as it is a very sheer coverage. Unfortunately for me it clung to my dry patches and where my pores are which is annoying as I really had high hopes for this foundation as I really love all of KIKO’s other products and I was wearing a pore minimising primer too. It definitely has a nice matte finish too it which is great if you have oily skin and can make this foundation work for you.

LASTING POWER
I have a feeling this foundation would last quite a long time if I could get it to work with my skin but unfortunately it wasn’t working for me. It didn’t oxidise and seemed to set in place so I couldn’t see this coming off throughout the day however you can set this with a setting spray to ensure it doesn’t move.

MY VERDICT
So I’m not sure what I will do with this foundation, I will probably sell it on my depop. But I’m really sad this foundation doesn’t work with my skin. If you know of any other good foundations for oily and acne prone skin, please let me know in the comments below.
