My favourite beauty products of 2016! Everyone seems to be doing this currently as they round up their favourite beauty products from the year 2016. Mine will be slightly different as mine will be cruelty free products as 2016 was the year I turned cruelty free with my makeup and cosmetics. 2016 was the year I cared more about what beauty brands are doing with their products rather than buying them just for the sake of the brand name or the price. Yes you may want to own a Louboutin lipstick that’s worth £60 but an innocent animals life isn’t worth that £60! Below I’m going to share with you my favourite beauty and skincare products from 2016.
bareMinerals The Nature of Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
I don’t know how many times I have mentioned this palette in one of my beauty blog posts or stopped dipping my eyeshadow brush into it but I seriously can’t get enough of this palette now. It is always in my everyday makeup routine whether I feel like a gold or a taupe eyeshadow look, I always reach for it. It’s fool proof and the colours are super pigmented and easy to blend. I have a horrible feeling that this eyeshadow palette was a limited edition for some reason as I can’t find it anywhere on any makeup website! 🙁 If anyone has found it where it’s in stock, let me know please!
Jurlique Rose Balancing Facial Mist
This is a newbie to my skincare collection but so far I have seriously been loving how refreshing this is and it really helps hydrate my skin ready for applying makeup. I can’t wait to see what this does for my skin in the future.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette
This palette is perfect for those with a lighter skin tone who need a matte contour/bronzer that suits their skin tone, I also use the highlighter even though I’m not huge on highlighting due to my really oily skin but the highlighter isn’t too much if I want to add a little.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
After having to replace my favourite Benefit moisturiser I was in desperate need to find one that was similar and of course cruelty free. Of course my skin is incredibly oily but it also needs hydrating as it gets quite dull surprisingly which is really strange and this facial cream does the job at doing both things. It’s incredibly light on the skin so it doesn’t make my skin feel heavy and oily but it hydrates it enough to make my foundation glide on smoothly.
Urban Decay Pore Perfection Primer
I was in need to replace my Benefit Porefessional Primer as Benefit isn’t cruelty free and I have to say this is a perfect match for that primer. It definitely helps cover and reduce the appearance of pores and helps keep oil at bay for the majority of the day when wearing foundation and makeup.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Glide in Bound
My gosh this liquid lipstick has been in my makeup bag ever since I purchased it and I just can’t stop wearing it. It’s the perfect colour for my skin tone and I love most mauve shades but it’s so soft and velvety on the lips. It doesn’t dry the lips out or come off straight away – it’s the perfect everyday lipstick.
