• One of the sights we saw was The Lady Buddha which is one of the popular attractions in Da Nang. The Lady Buddha is officially taller than The Christ The Redeemer statue in Rio De Janeiro, it is also the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam. The statue leans on the mountain, facing the sea, the kind eyes looking down, a hand exercises while the other hand is holding a bottle of holy water like sprinkling the peace to the offshore fishermen. On the hat of Lady Buddha statue, there is a Buddha statue 2m high. There are 17 floors in the statue lap, each floor has an altar with 21 Buddha statues which have different shapes, facial expression and posture.

The gardens of The Lady Buddha are filled with gorgeous marigold flowers and many many bonsai trees as well as lots of different buddha statues.

There is also different shrines around the grounds many of them are Chinese orientates and decorated with plenty of gold detailing. There are also lots of incense burning to warn off evil spirits and to remember people’s dead loved ones as they believe it opens up a path to heaven so they can contact their loved ones who have passed away.

In the big pagoda in the grounds of The Lady Buddha there is a massive mahogany buddha that lots of people pray and worship, they also leave lots of flowers and food offerings for the spirits. It was beautiful and cool on the marble floor so it was perfect to escape the hot sun for a little bit and admire the work that goes into their temples and shrines.

Have you thought about taking a trip to Da Nang if you visit Vietnam?
